We\u2019ve got too many hedgehogs. Not in our gardens, where they are disappearing at an alarming rate<\/a>. There are too many hedgehogs in our workplaces. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before I go any further, I love hedgehogs. One of my dearest friends, Hugh Warwick is a hedgehog about hedgehogs –<\/a> an ecologist, author, activist, and presenter who uses his deep understanding of these well loved creatures to help us care more for the rich ecosystems around us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I say he is hedgehog-like  I\u2019m referring to  \u201cA fox knows many things, but a hedgehog knows one big thing<\/strong><\/em>” as the Ancient Greek poet Archilochus<\/strong><\/a> wrote.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0In the well-trodden binary debate, given new life by the famous\u00a0 Isaiah Berlin\u2019s essay<\/a> , and now reinforced by the many articles posted on Linkedin and other places, there is a simplistic view of people either being Hedgehogs or Foxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are even some more helpful framings, such as this one looking at how foxes and hedgehogs can support each other in product development.<\/p>\n\n\n
